I am having trouble finding the problem associated with my 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. I installed a viper 5900 unit with the gmsl-2 interface and am having some problems. If I use the Remote start with vehicle armed/locked SES light comes on and weird transmission operation. I have to disconnect and reconnect the battery to clear the light and then if I start with the key it's normal (no ses lights and normal transmission). But if I Remote start with vehcle dis-amRED / unlocked no SES light but still have the weird transmission operation, if i turn it off and back on with the key it is completly normal. I am completly stumped. I have disconnected the tach wire and switched to voltage sense still having problems.
What am I missing??
Sounds like the ignition, accessory and starter wires are connected improperly. Can you describe what wires you connected to what in the ignition harness?
PURPLE (+) starter output --- Yellow (starter)
GREEN starter input --- Nothing
RED (+) high current 12V input ---- red (12v)
ORANGE (+) accessory circuit --- orange (accessory)
PINK (+) primary ignition --- pink (ignition)
RED (+) (30A) high current 12V input ---- RED / white (12v)
PINK/WHITE (+) second ignition --- white (2nd ignition)
RED / WHITE (+) (30A) high current 12V input --- nothing
i also didn't connect the brown, second accessory to the remote start. what does this power??
You need to connect the RED / white of the remote start to the other thick red (12v) wire in the ignition harness. Sometimes the second +12v wire in the ignition harness is RED / white on GM's.
The brown wire shouldn't be necessary.
thats the culprit, everything seems to be working fine now.
Thanks a million!!
viper relay packs have 3 power inputs that each feed 1 circuit at a time, one red feeds accessory/starter and the relay pack itself, one red feeds ignition and the RED / white feeds 2nd ign/acc.
