Hi

I just got my nissan and I did not want to purchase the dealer's alarm system.  I did notice though that they installed some sort of chip at the bottom where the latch for the hood is to deactivate the alarm system.  I was wondering if I were to remove that chip, would the alarm system work?

You might find that's the control unit for the factory transponder immobiliser DO NOT PLAY WITH, IT WILL COST YOU BIG BUCKS

Year and model of vehicle size of "chip" would be most helpful
