You should be okay to use the pkford version 2 do you have other xk04 to try or maybe you could reflash if you have an xkloader

if you put the first key in security light comes on then goes off put second key in within 5 secs security light goes on and off remove second key push start button modulator light comes on everything powers up modulater led light comes on and flashes fast and security light on dash flashes fast and nothing happens. If you leave the key in the ignition starts fine. I have reset it a few times re did it a couple times and still didn't work. I had it flashed at visions still didn't work. Seems like the modulater isn't recieving the signal.

How did you connect the wires from the bypass to the wires in the car?

I've also heard that the learn routine for adding keys to the car can sometimes be locked by the dealer.  I don't know if that's true or not, you might need to look into it if the problem persists.

won't work on the 06+ escape, explorer, tribute or the fusion.

use a pkf3 if you have one ( no wiring changes) or adstb from idata, or a pkuf2 or pats3+

Really it dose. I have used this on tons of 07 escapes. I didn't need to flash them or anything. I do know if you are not use to them the instructions are scarry. the only wires you need are

Red 12volt

Black Ground

Brown neg trigger input

Pink RX wire

Green TX wire

also when you look at the plug in the instructions it is backwardes. it is a pic from the front of the plug you may be on the wrong wires.

when programing: key1 in and to on

LED will come on, when LED gose off, Key1 off

Key2 in and to on

LED will come on, When LED gose off, Key2 off

Remote start,

Led will come on (car will not start), All shut down

Attempt 2 second start Ing on then start. You are now programed.

I HAVE DONE THIS ON SEVERAL 07 FORD ESCAPES!!

Also try to reset the XK04 by unplugging the mod. then push and hold the program button, plug XK04 back in, LED comes on hold button till LED gose off. bypass is now reset. program bypass.

If you go to bypasskits under the pk04 module instalation guide.  Theres some trouble shooting tips.  1)  If LED stays on solid or flashes rapidly ,reverse the tx and rx wire connections.  2) If module fails to program make sure brown wire is not getting a trickle ground from remote starter prior to last programming step. 3) Fails to program reset module  Hope this might help.

well, here in the trenches, we've tryed many times on the escape and have given up, they'll program, work for a few times and quit, same with the fusion and explorer. If you unplug the xk04 and plug in a pkf3 it works fine and for good. eliminates wiring errors from the equation.

when you sell 1000's of remote starters a year you don't have time to troubleshoot problems like this so it's just best to avoid them, the idatalink bypass works 100% of the time on all fords.

Call Tech suppoprt and have them send you a software update called PKf3.0.2

I had this same issue with a 06 mountaineer. The new software did the trick. The wiring is the same, but you have to add the orange wire on the module to an ignition source.
