Soon after having a new alarm system installed, my power door locks are starting to fail. They will lock the doors, but not fully unlock them. Frequently the lock thingy will start to go up, but will not go up fully, leaving the door locked. This happens with both the keyless entry system, the unlock switch and with the alarm remote. It is primarily affecting my drivers door, but frequently the other doors as well. Could the alarm installation be causing the problem? I could envision it through a bad (weak) connection between the alarm signal the wire to the actuators. Or could there be too strong of a signal being sent to the actuators, causing them to burn out? I have a 2001 Ford Excursion. The alarm is a Clifford RSX 3.5.

it's the vehicle, I see alot of fords with this problem.

Seems strange that 3 of the doors would all fail at once. Alarm was installed mid July.

Like extreme1 said this is a common problem on the Excursion/Superduty platform. The doorlock motors are pretty weak in these vehicles.
The lock output on the alarm is a low current output. It basically controls the same relays as the factory door switches and is isolated from the power feed to the actuators. If the connections from the alarm to the door lock switch was loose you would experience intermittent locking/unlocking with all the doors sporadically but when it would work it would fully lock and unlock.
What you are experiencing is 6 year old actuators starting to go out just from everyday use.

Did you make sure your battery voltage is up to snuff? Just something to try if you haven't already.

I had one with 30k miles and ALL of the door locks failed within a month. Couldn't believe it but it happens.
