Hi

I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 that I want to install a Ultra Start 1250 remote start in. I believe car has Passlock 2. I also have a DEI 555L. Need to know who to connect both 1250 and 555L. I had both 1250 and 555L removed from other vechicles.

Thanks

Pete

hi there just the instructions for the 555l on bypasskits.com  at  https://www.bypasskit.com/getdocument.aspx?documentid=729

make sure to hook up the 2n ign wire from the 555 to the remote starter wire called "out when running" or ground out when running.

programing is easy just follow the steps in the guide.

My 555L only has 8 pin connector

Red   (+)12V

Pink  (+) Ignition input

Violet  (-) Starter

Blue/Black  (- )Activation

Black   Ground

BLACK/ White  Bulb Check

Yellow  To Ign Sw

BLACK / YELLOW   To BCM

Is there a new model of 555L ??

Thanks

there is a new model 556t but what you have will work, violet and blk/white not used, your starter should have a ground out when running(-) hook that to the blue/blk, red to constant hot, pink to ignition hot(pink in car)black to ground at passlock wire(black in 3 wire harness from passlock at ignition) yellow to key side of yellow passlock wire, blk / YELLOW to motor side of same cut yello wire, then reprogram, by starting car with key after install, cant help you with remote start wiring as its not abrand im familiar with but someone on here will be able to help with that, after install, do not ever use factory remotes as when they lock doors they somehow shut out passlock wires and if you try to remtes atrt it you will trip passlock, only lock/unlock with your aftermarket fob

thats odd, look again for a wire thats only ground(-)when running, if its ground when locked that means the 555l would be active whenever you lock your doors(or is it only ground when locked for a second?) if the passlock sees ground on that input it would enable someone to hotwire the car if that wires stays grounded all the time when you lock it via remote(check the manual again or double check with someone on here thats familiar with that brand my guess(and its only a guess) is that wire ust only pulse a ground when doors are locked
good luck

Hi

On another page has (-) when running/ armed. They also use this wire for anti grind/starter kill.

no not that 1 should be a ground(-)when running only, might be labeled as 3rd ign(-) which would require a relay for a positive 3rd ign, but it would be ground when running, you dont want the 555l to see ground anytime xcept when remote started
