i've installed a remote starter, keyless entry, alarm in a 96 blazer s10 suv.  the unit installed is a valiant 4500.  whenever the unlock button is pushed, the vehicle unlocks and the dome and other interior lights come on and stay on for about 30 seconds.   they also come on when the door handle is pulled.  a warning buzzer or chime also comes on and stays on until the interior lights go out.   i don't know if this come from the factory like this or if it was wired like this  from a previous alarm installation.  I bought the blazer used, and it had a "codealarm"  alarm installed in it. can anybody tell me how to disable the buzzer/chime or disconnect it?

thanks in advance for any help in this matter,

cornell

It`s factory options. Visit dealers.

it sounds like a domelight supervision feature. I don't have that manual handy and can't search here at work, but it should be something that can be programed on the alarm.

I'm a little confused. Does it have a Code Alarm still in it, or just the Valiant 4500?

Do your parking lights come on and stay on for 30 seconds after you unlock? If so, the reason it is buzzing is because the car sees the door open, and the parking lights on at the same time. To fix the buzzing...either disable the domelight supervision (may require cutting a wire or programming a feature) or disable the parking lights from coming on upon unlock.

Thank you Jworm for your response.  So far as I can tell, I removed all of the code alarm, but it's really hard to tell.  Whoever installed it did a very professional job.  The wiring that they did looked like it come from the factory.  Again, thanks for your help.
