I recently bought a 1999 Silverado that has a factory alarm and also has a DEI 4200 remote start installed.  The problem that I am having is that the alarm will only arm if I lock the doors from the keypad with the drivers door open.  Is this normal or is there something that I should be checking out?

The factory alarm only works if you lock it with the door open?

Correction you could also pusle the the driver door pin when you lock it, this would arm the factory alarm
