My manual for the ca425 says that the horn wire should rest at positive (+).  I test my horn wire on the steering column; at least I think it is the right wire???; and it shows negative voltage.  How can hook my horn wire from my car to the horn wire input on the ca-425?  I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Also, can anyone tell me if I need to bypass anything on the car to get the module to work right??

Sorry for the questions I am a rookie at this remote start/keyless install.

Thanks.

Olds Intrigue should have Passlock II. You won't be able to remote start until you take care of that.

Look into the Audiovox AS-GM4 or DEI 555L; both are reliable pieces.

You can use the search feature here and find a Passlock bypass method that uses a resistor and two relays.......I don't think it's worth all the time and hassle, but it would save you a few bucks.

If the wire you have found for the horn already rests at ground, it's the wrong wire.

On most GM cars, there will be a few black wires coming from the steering column........a couple of them are simply ground wires, and one should be the horn. Test them all.
