Hey everybody,

I've been playing with an aftermarket alarm add-on system on my desk specifically the KARR 4040a (no remotes).

I'm teaching myself the wiring involved with trying to hook up sensors and such in hopes of adding it into my accord.

My question is, since I don't have remotes, how do I go about sending a pulse to door lock wire input on the brain to disarm/arm the alarm?

Thanks!

I think some people have the wrong impression about my post. I'm not looking for a controller for the alarm, I'm trying to find out a way to simulate a door pulse to the alarm wire. The alarm works as a piggy back, and doesn't use a remote control but works off the door locks. I'm looking to get something to immitate this so I can play with the alarm sensors and add-ons on my desk.

Thanks!

It wont work, go for something that you use your existing remotes with, those your door motor lock pulses etc.

You should be able to simulate door lock pulses by quickly pulsing 12VDC to the door lock/unlock inputs

By just taping a 12VDC source to the exposed wire?

Thanks for the help! :)

NO! When you lock the car, the  lock MOTOR wire which sits on neg. will pulse pos for just under a second.

Yes, exactly, you've got it right.

The trigger input wire should indicate, somewhere in the instruction manual, if it's a positive or a negative input, and how many pulses it requires.

For example, it may need two positive pulses.

Also, putting this in an Accord might leave you dissatisfied. Honda remotes don't work when the ignition is on. Therefore, after the car is remote started, you'll need to open the door manually with the key.
