Guys
Working on a 1995 mazda rx7 (JDM import)with an arrow 5 alarm.

Regarding the central locking,it seems to use a cable instead of a rod and no visable motor.Pulling the cable locks/unlocks both doors.

I've got 5 wires coming from a loom at the cable,2 ground,1 constant 12v and 1 wire 12v on open 1 wire 12v on lock.

Does this have to be wired to reversed polarity to work or is an actuator needed for sure?

I think you should pay me for all this advice but here we go:-Some had a factory keyless entry, most didn't if it has keyless entry, find the control unit * and do a motor interrupt AKA 5wire on the lock wires. If not actuator in driver's door, the cable part ends just before the lock unlock pull. VERY carefully fix your linkage there ensuring the actuator is also in the pull housing = short linkage , this lets the door panel cover it and yes this wil give you a bad back.

* PS If it one of the rear ones with keyless entry it's in the driver kickwell

Thanks Howie your a great help.

I couldn't find any sign of a control unit so i presume it didnt have keyless entry.I've already gotten the bad back, absolutely horrible car to work on in terms of space.

Thanks again
