I have a 2005 Ford Taurus, with a commando car alarm RS-560. My alarm goes of every 10 minutes!!!! I have disabled the shock sensor in the programming and removed the shock sensor after that didn't stop the problem. I don't know what else could cause this problem, it's just sitting there in driveway, nobody's gone near it. Could a short activate the alarm? All four doors are diode isolated.

I have isolated the door pin triggers between the BCM and the alarm unit, do I have to diode isolate between the door pins and the BCM? I don't think this would set it off, but I just want to make sure. Should I just isolate all of the circuits?

I beleive that I know exactly what is happening but I am not 100% how to fix it. If I recall correctly then alot of the Ford's send a signal throughout the entire system periodically(maybe every 10mins) and this interferes with anything that you have hooked up (ie. alarms) I think that the fix is to diode isolate from the BCM so when the signal is sent it never reaches your alarm brain.

This may not be the only fix because I have memories of having to work in relays into a 2000ish mustang in order to combat this same problem. hopefully someone else can clarify this for you.

On the "download" section you might find a diagram on isolating the BCM with diodes.

Do I have to diode isolate all of the wires to the BCM or just the door pins? I've already diode isolated between the BCM and the alarm module.

you need to diode isolate all the door pins going to the BCM,which means you must cut each pin swith wire and use 2 diodes per door, is that how you did it? or did you just tap into each pin with a diode?

I tapped my alarm input into the existing wire going from the door pin to the BCM. I did not diode isolate the existing wire from door pin to BCM, I isolated the wire from the tap to my alarm brain. So now I have all four door pins diode isolated before the alarm, I don't know if anything else could be back feeding.

you must isolate the pin wire buy cutting it in half, not just adding a diode, the feed back is comming from the BCM, it sends a little signal to the dome every few minutes I believe, which is causing your alarm to false.

Current setup

I did not install the diodes with the red line through them.

So.... the diodes in your diagram, the ones with the lines thru them. Do you have those installed as well, if not, you do need them!

No I did not install the diodes with the red line through them.

Should I isolate any other wires tapped into the BCM?

i had the sam problem with a dodge durango what i did i put a relay between the door pins isolated and the the alarm it work great just figure out the relay if

you have the diagram for the relay

Would isolating the door triggers cause a check engine light? After I installed the diodes I get a check engine light, I'm going to have the code read on Monday, but I was wondering if anyone has seen a similar problem???
