can anyone tell me what type of door locks are found in a 02 X-Type. It has no central switch in the car. when the drivers door switch is locked all the doors lock and when unlocked, all doors unlock.(almost like a vacuum type) I found my lock/unlock wires at the GECM. A neg pulse to the unlock wire unlocks all doors, but no luck on the lock wire.(do i need a resistor)

Also the red(+)trigger parking lit wire that i tapped onto keeps blowing a fuse. it does go to 12 volts when parking light switch is on . Tested all the others wires at the switch, only three wires show 12 volts when switched, all of them blow a 10 amp fuse when turn on.

one more thing does, anyone know of a transponder bypass kit that does not use the key (if there is one)

  • These wires will meter while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.
  • The GECM (General Electronic Control Module) is behind the glove box near the kick panel.

Make sure you have the correct lock wire. As far as the lights go, the Jag might have independent parking light circuits so you will need two relays to bypass the parking lights.I'm not sure on this because we don't do Jags up here in the middle of winter posted_image.

Go to this link for the bypass diagram. As far as testing for them, ???? Sorry I have never had the opportunity to work on those newer European vehicles. If you use this bypass and the fuse doesn't blows then you know it's got independent lights, but if it does..... I'm at a loss .
