i have installed a compustar cm300 car alarm into my 95 civic 4 door. it went to a body shop and sat for 3 or 4 months while modifacation were done to the car. when i got the car back the alarm worked for about one week and then it stoped working, that is except it locks and unlocks the doors. the remote start doesnt work and the car doesnt arm anymore. the parking lights dont even flash anymore. i recently took my dash out so that i could acess my alaram but none of the wires appeared to be cut or fraded in a way that i would short out. can anyone help me with my problem?

thank you

chris

sounds like the system is in valet mode, try taking it out of valet mode with the remote. Can't remember off hand which buttons to use but is is 2 buttons pushed at the same time to take it in and out of valet mode. it should also tell you this info on the back of the remote.

Good luck

ok i have the caar chirping and it unlocks the dors now but when i try to lock the doors it chirps 3 times in a row and they dont lock.should i try to reset the system or can you actually reset the box? the remote start still isnt working either. im thinking bout taking it to an authorized dealer on my next day off and having them take a look at it.

if i recall correctly the three chirps and not locking is indicating that you have an open zone(ie a door pin or something is up) now when you try to operate the starter do any of the parking lights flash? if so then I would put my money on the hood pin being the problem(either looses or faulty). I think that 10 flashes is hood pin error(or maybe 5 check the install manual if you have it) also is it is a standard then it could be something to do with the arming sequence of the starter.

another potential issue is that you have on of your power fuses blown on the unit(hence preventing your starter to crank but the alarm works)

or your unit has forgotten or was never "taught" tach and therefore is not starting( i think this is the 5 p light flash)

unfortunately if it is anymore then a loose hood pin or the way in which you are trying to arm the starter then your best bet may be going to a "professional installer" cause there are many possibilities as to the issue and they will have the tools to diagnose it.

With the Honda's you have to have all doors closed before the doors will lock.
