I have a Clifford Intelliguard 8000 in my 95 Eclipse, it was installed when I bought the car about two years ago. I went out this morning, drove for about and hour, came back and activated my Manual safe mode (intellistart4). I got out shut it down/lock doors and it immediately went into a full alarm. It will not stop sounding, the valet switch is inop, the remote valet won't respond and I had to umlock the doors with the key. I had to pull some fuses to shut if off. Does this sound like the brain took a SH*T? Anyone have a 7000 or 8000 brain they want to sell? Thanks guys.

Hey Warren, if the system works great for the last couple of year and it finally quits working like you said, it's probably the CPU failure. What you can do is take the system out and unplug the CPU from it's harness to the vehicle & then plug it back in .Go into your programming and reset the system to factory setting.

Another thing to make sure of is that the dataport wire hasn't been pinched or bent. This is the communication peripheral between the Intelligaurd 8000 & the Intellistart4 units.

Thanks Jeff,

I will try to reset it. I did however disconect it from the harness and left it unplugged for an hour or so. I plugged it back in and reinstalled all the fuses, it went back into full alarm. I let you know what happens. Again, Thank You.

Warren
