There appears to have been a post recently stating that the latest BMWs with magic ( A.K.A. Laser or infra red) can be emulated with a Fortin Box. Can any one explain this to me please? See the recent post on BMW 645, alarm/RS

Howard, according to Fortin it would be somewhat of a straigh forward install. You would use a CANSL2 and a BMW-INT. Go to Ifar.ca and see these modules especially the BMW bypass kit. They are pretty expensive though. These would easy be over the $300 mark to charge. Read the manual for the BMW bypass and you'll see how it works.

I would be very carefull putting a remote start in a BMW which is under warranty unless you have a relationship with the dealer. even though they have no right to deny warranty for aftermarket installed electronics, they have a way of convincing the customer it is the installers fault if anything electronic fails in the car.
