I installed an SR6000 into a 2005 GMC  4dr diesel and the door locks have stopped working all the doors only the driver side works for lock and unlock. I tested the wires in the door module when I installed them and came to the conclusion that they were 4 wire alternating. The info sheet for the wire colors says it should be 5 wire but one leg did not rest at ground. The switches and the key faubs all work fine and there is signal on the output lines from the relays when the switches are pressed. Does anyone have any in sight into this problem.

umm, you didn't use a data module for locks?

I recommended the 456G or 457G module for his truck but the guy is very cheap and did not want to buy it. I do not have access the directfax 1601 document to find out the other way of connecting them. ( I am interested in becoming a dealer so I can get these documents.) Should I make him use the data module?

Should I make him use the data module?

Yes. I wouldn't EVEN do this rig with keyless entry without it!

Thanks. I do have one question though. Is it possible to become a DEI dealer even if you don't own a store. I have been doing starters for about 15 years, most of it while working at a professional install shop. Now I just do about 30-40 a year mostly around Christmas time. It would be nice to specialize in a certain brand of starter and from what i have seen from DEI their products are really good. I usually tell my clients just to buy which ever one they want and I put it in so I have done them all. With the new generation of vehicles it would be nice to get better at one brand and just sell these to future clients. Can you tell how this might be accomplished? Thanks again, your help is always welcome.

Get yourself a business licence. Alot of the DEI line is available to what are called expeditors, thru stocking distrubutors.

Hornet, Automate etc.   See my sig. Astroflex was purchased by DEI almost 2 years ago. Their product line has changed, and the top dog in the lineup now resembles a DEI unit.

www.astroflex.com    another option.

457G does both locks and bypass.

We only use data for 03+ trucks for bypass.
