hey everyone. I have a 1999 chevy silverado that i installed an 881xp rs system everything works well except for the remote start system. the engine will crank over and over three times but not start. I did the diagnostics on the system and it said low or no rpm. i connected the 555l correctly and rechecked the connections. I think that the tachometer wire that i connected to the back of the instrument cluster is not strong enough. Needed some help on next best place to tap for tachometer wire because i think that might be my problem... hopefully i don't have to go to the engine compartment to tap a cylinder. any possibility of connection at bcm or fuse panel anywhere other than having to go back and run wires through engine compartment. i did do the tachometer learning and the r code learning so any other possible things i overlooked would be of great assistance.

CHEVROLET, SILVERADO, 1999, TachometerECM is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the tach wire is at pin 20 in the connector labeled red. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the red connector.

Before you go to all that trouble, temporarily reprogram to voltage sense for a couple of days, and see if the problem goes away or not.

Perfect! thanks was super easy to find. exactly where you said it would be. I didn't see anything though that said it was red but the numbers that were on the ecm lead to me the right wire. Again thanks!
