Hi all at the12Volt,

I'm installing a clifford concept 600 in my 2003 ford Focus (UK Model). I'm having a little difficulty in tracing the correct wires for the door locks at the driver side kick panel. I know that the wires I'm looking for are BLACK/ Orange- Lock & BLACK/ Green - Unlock. I believe these wires are thin and are in the top loom coming out of the driver door. I've tested all the wires for a +12V pulse whilst locking & unlocking, inorder to locate the correct wires, but I've had no luck.

Please correct me if I'm wrong the Focus has negative Trigger door locks & the way to test for the door lock wires is to connect the negative probe of the digital test meter to +12V & using the positive probe, test the wires, whilst locking & unlocking. The wires that generates +12V whilst locking & Unlocking are the correct wires.

Any response & help very much appreciated.

Thanks & regards

AP

There is a gem box above the accel pedal,  on 2003 access door locks,  haz flashers*  Blue and blue/ red, door contacts,  trunk release etc. Boot (trunk) contact is on a plug (blk/yel) at base of n/side "A" pillar.

TAKE CARE:- Diode join and BLOCK see directed 1070 (or I can email if you want) also trunk feed. Don't use int (domelight) blue/black or light will stay on for 1 min after arming and trip the alarm, take care with the A pillar. Bring the window close wiring into the driver's door and connect there. There are spare grommetts adjacent to existing harness. Drop left hand splash shield, about 6 x T25 screws and mount  Siren adjacent to horn run lead back in shield and into car via spare grommet adjacent to left hand door cable (saving you having to drill bulkhead). The Siren will be MUCH louder mounted there.

GREEN/ YELLOW ign, red 12v+ and grey or grey/red starter all on ignition loom, multiple earthing (ground) points on kickwells (unbolt only those with black cables).

Cable tie unit to top[ of r/hand air vent tube or pop centre air vents and mount in midle (just fits) * Hazards can't be picked up at switch or ign loom because they are data at that point. Tach if required is on an injector port (any colour which isn' t common to different ports.

Thanks Howie,

Your advice is gonna save me lots of time! You sure know the Focus Well!

Yes I've got directed 1070, so I'LL diode block all the Triggers.

One more thing, I got relays which I'LL use to activate the Trunk hatch, & headlight (side Lights), How do I cofigure this using the Spare accessory Channels on the clifford?

Cheers

regards

Don't need a relay for hatch release, use grey/blue from alarm to BLACK / YELLOW from switch to Gem box (it's a low current neg.) can't remember h/lights, make sure  of headlight cable by testing then probe it via a cable with a 15amp fuse, if this works then grey/purple from alarm to rely 85, 12v+ (15amp fused) to 87 and 86, to healights from 30. If fuse blows as above but  don't join, cut and switch side to 87a, output to 30 other terminals as before. Treat sidelights the same and use a separate relay.

PS I believe the 600 had a third aux (pink?) which you could set to go to ground when armed. if so go Gem box and look for a YELLOW wire (thicker than the lock/unlock wires) which goes live when  when you press lock for the second time IF you have a factory remote. This is the deadlock wire. Set pink for 3secs timed, then pink to 85, 12v+ at 10amps to 86 and 87, Gem box side to 87a and output side to 30. This will give you ign. loc/unlock normal locking and deadlocking on arming.

Thanks Howie, Yes I've got the factory remote , so I'LL hook up the timed pink output to the Thick Yellow for double locking.  I Looked for the Gem box, it it the one on the top of the accelerator, but fixed to the Right side of the kickwell with 5 plugs going into it?

Also the Focus door locks, door switch are Negative trigger right?, so I connect the door locks as per Negative trigger, according to the directed instructions.

Thanks

YES and I think the aux output that can automaticaly switch on arming is either Grey/Red (US Model) or Pink(UK Model).
