So I searched the other posts about the 07 Sentra's on several boards and cant seem to get a clear understanding on this issue.

From what I can understand, the brake wire won't shut down the R/S and you need to instead use the door trigger for the driver door to shutdown the R/S. As far as a bypass, directechs lists the new XK07. Now, Ive read about people both using the bypass and others not using it. Anyone have a simple solution to this or actually installed one and had it go smoothly?

this week, i installed a unit for my friend. his unit also will not stop runing if you step on the brake. i guess the module was designed for door trigger. if you start the car, then open the door, the remote start goes off and the alarm sounds then pages the control. not too sure about the bypass, if i find some info, ill pm you.

thanks. I did some more searching last night... still cant make sense of the use of bypass module or not. Nobody seems to be posting clear directions of how they did it, just some crap like 'oh so i energized a relay and it worked'. lol, what the hell is that supposed to mean for people who are asking how it was done ?!

What you are reading about the 07 intelligent key vehicles is actually what people did to make it work with that system. The vehicles work differently than how the remote starters were designed to operate. Essentially what you have seen is how installers are getting creative and working with what they have to accomplish remote start.

There are a couple of things in the works for those types of vehicles, DEI has a piece they are going to be releasing that actually uses one of the factory transmitters with the battery removed and a "battery" replacement that energizes the remote when remote starting, this with a negative output to the start/stop button, positive output to the brake circuit (separated from the RS until after the vehicle has started) and some other connections to allow for the RS to function.

There is also the XK07 w/firmware PKN3 that is specifically for the Nissan push button start systems. You can read the installation manual here.

Bypasskit also shows this piece for the 07 Altima but does not show an installation manual for it yet.

In my opinion the bottom line is that each manufacturer is taking their own approach on how to interface with this vehicle. Time will tell which method will prove to be the most popular/reliable/least labor intensive installation.

The PKN3 is an excellent piece. After the car has been remotely started, when the customer gets into the car, they will touch the brake pedal to de-activate remote start and then restart with the intelli-key

In fact, I put the 4100 av into a 07 Versa with no problems, (expect for the pinout for the bcm being backwards. )

have you tryed pushing the start button 2x before stepping on the brake?

I heard this will allow proper takeover.

Thanks Twelvoltz, having the link to the install manual would have helped earlier :) I would much rather use that then try taking apart the key and messing around with it that way. Any other input is always appreciated, I think I figured out what was confusing me.

Try the modules from www.idatalink.com Used one on a push to start altima. no stupid door shutdown. get in with a smart key, hit the brake= valid takeover. get in and press the brake without a smart key= car dies. The way to go. No key lost either.
