Does a remote start work for a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. If it doesn't, what do I need?

a rs unit should work on all cars if wired properly.

If the car is fuel injected and automatic transmission than any remote start should work.

If your car has a manual transmission then you need to pick up a remote starter that is specifically designed for a manual transmission.

Since you do not mention the year of the car it would be impossible to know if you need anything else. The 1993 Impreza is a LOT different than the 2008.

It is a 98 impreza.  Would I need anything else?

The 98 does not have a transponder (according to my sheets). You should be good to go with just the system itself.

Again, if it is a manual transmission do not put in a system designed for an automatic transmission.
