Installing a Scytek Galaxy 5000RS-2way alarm/remote start in an '07 Chevy Uplander, using a Bypasskit GMBP for the Passkey III.

Finished installing remote start wiring - programmed the GMBP as per the instructions, set unit to voltage sense, everything worked wonderfully except for the "starting disabled" message and the security light being on once the car had started via the RS. Bypasskit's knowledge base(searched for "uplander") says this is normal and will not set a hard code.

After installing and testing the alarm functions, I tested the remote start again, at which point it would not start with the key or with the remote start.

Since then I've tried the following:

Turned key to run and jumped terminals of crank relay (car starts and immediately dies)
Cut data wire from GMBP to the OBDII plug
Verified that starter wire at BCM is getting 12V+ during crank
Disconnected battery overnight
Tried the vehicle's other key

Does anyone have any idea what can be done just to get the car running again? I have plenty of alternate bypasses I can use once I'm that far. Thanks in advance.

When you say doesn't start, do you mean no crank at the starter or nothing at all ? Check to make sure that all your ignition wires are getting 12 volts and if they are not check for any blown fuses. Next remove the bypass module and the fuses from the RS and reconnect the starter wire to see if there's something backfeeding from the RS system.

I know this is a no brainer but I thought I'd as anyways to eliminate all possibilities.

Thanks Jeff. It won't crank when the key is turned to start, the theft light stays on, and the message center reads "Starting Disabled".

Checked the fuses - all good. Also the bypass module is a one wire hookup to the OBDII plug and that wire's still disconnected. Starter wire is getting 12v+ in crank position...didn't check the others.

Right now I'm letting it sit with the key in run to see if it does anything...like how Passlock has to do when it goes into long tamper mode...we'll see what that does.

Check to make sure that the starter wire at the starter is getting 12 volts as well when cranking. If not leave key in the ON position and hot wire the starter and see if it stays running. If it does, then I'd say the starter relay may have bit the bullet.
