Can you get to where the cable attaches to the plastic latch/handle itself?

You can either get the d/l system specifically for cable driven systems, or attach to the lock knobs up at the door handles. Drill a small hole on the backside and bend the rod at a 90 degree. Either way it's doable.

New one on me? all European Foci have c/locking, power windows in at least front doors and A/C as standard.There are special kits for Escort and Fiesta, but if you can't get them don't try to get into lock, it's a nightmare, cut cable outer,join actuator rod to cable and tie cable outers down rigidly with P connectors or similar.

So howie, your sayin to remove some of the outer (bare the cable inside) what....an inch or so? and then the ends of the outer shield, secure them so they dont slide up and down the cable.....right? Attach to the cable

This thing uses the same cable for the locks to open the door. When you unlock the cable moves about 1/2 inch then to open it moves another 1/2-3/4. I've done regular cable driven locks but this thing is a little different.

Kar Tune Man You are absolutely right in how you see it, the kit uses a metal back-plate secured via rivets or taptites to the door skin, then uses two spring inserts to hold the outer cable tight. As ever there are alternates, we've all been caught out with the wrong kit, hence suggesting P clips to hold the cable to the door skin. audiopros is also right, but here the devil is in the detail. Plan C, breaker's yard?

Again you can go either route, a normal d/l actuator kit attached at the handle/lock mechanism, or a cable specific kit right to the cable. Either way works when done right. I personally would choose a normal kit as once you cut the cable sleeve the locks no longer work on their own which changes the integrity of the OEM stuff.
The normal way isn't quite as intrusive IMO. I've posted pics of doing this on a focus a few years ago but lost them when my hard drive crashed. As mentioned basically drill a small hole in the lock knob and bend the rod at a 90 degree. A breeze once you do the first door and if I remember right the rear doors were easier than the fronts.

Yes it means junkyard guys although in our EU sponsored jargon "Vehicle Dismantling Facility" is the correct nomenclature, have I told you what "walker" and "thrower" translate as ?

Good mate actually did the junkyard routine for a Fiesta (windows and locks) but it won't work, definately windows and prob locks are controlled from the GEM box and just about every model has a different box. The power window motor on a Ford Mondeo here (Taurus?) has perm pos and neg, data link, ign trigger and neg up and down from switch also window and roof total (comfort) close from key only.
