If your truck came with keyless entry from the factory then it uses a negative pulse to control the factory relays. If this is the case you would use this diagram paying attention to the note to change pins 87.

If it did not come with factory keyless you would use this diagram.

If your system has internal relays just match up the terminal numbers listed with what your manual lists ignoring pins 85 and 86 (because the unit handles these internally.

where would the relays be located on my truck...i know all the wiring goes up under the dash near the tranny hump, and plugs into a module. but where , if the truck had them, would the relays be

You would not need to find the relays themselves, you need to find the wires that trigger them. This Post has the wiring information you need. If your truck did come with factory keyless entry you also need the information in this post.

i read the diagram,,its the same one i have..but it doesnt tell me exactly what im looking for..this is my first time installing..so according to the diagram, i use the blk/wht..and the wht/red..i can tap into those in the door panel..so do i cut both wires and use the 5 wires in my alarm to hook one wire to each side of the wires i cut instead of hook the extra wire to 12vlt..i hook it up to chassis ground..

hey..i tapped into the door switch harness..wht/RED / /blk/wht and my remote on the alarm works now..however,,when i unlock the doors, they will relock after 30 seconds and set the alarm, even with the door open..another thing, is that i cannot use the door switch anymore..it does nothing..

Not being able to use the door switch anymore leads me to believe you have the circuit wired incorrectly or there is something wrong with the alarm itself. Verify that you have pins 87 and 87a correct.

As far as the alarm trigger did you diode isolate the door triggers?

i figured out the alarm reactivating..i had to change the settings on the alarm...as far as the 87 89 pin..i just tapped into the grey module above the center hump below the stereo..i tapped into the 2 wires...blk/wht...wht.red...but it still wont let me use the door switches..the diagram i have shows me hooking up 6 different wires...one wire to unlock. one to lock...these hook up to the above colored wires...yellow/blk and yellow are wired to 12vt constant..ORANGE / blk//and orange are hooked up to body ground..the diagram is for a type B central locking system...do you see anything wrong here..thanks

well..i hookup 2 relays and wired them in according to the previous messages regarding a 5 wire hook up..and now the alarm remote does not activate the door locks and the switch does not activate the door locks..can you explain to me how to hook it up and exactly what wires to use...it shouldnt be that difficult to figure out....i know i use the blk/wht and wht/red wires at the module on the transmission hump...can you help from there...i dont have vsm on this truck..thanks

lets try this...my power door lock wires from the remote are unlock...ORANGE / blk,,WHITE/ blk,,yellow/blk....unlock is white, yellow, orange..theres no mentioned weather they are negative or positive type connection..it just says that the choice of neg or pos depends on the vehicle..does this help at all...if i new which wires were for the neg trigger..i might be able to figure this out..thanks
