Hi

I'm trying to install a car alarm system to my VW polo X (1998). As I'm very novice I was wondering if someone could find some time to help me with some very basic information on wiring diagram for this model, together with where are the wires located (some foto would be great :D).

The other thing I wanted to ask is: do I have to cut my cars wires to attach those comming from my alarm "brain"?

Do I have to remove the door panels? If yes can someone tell me how to do so?

Thanks a lot in advance

Questions:- Does the radio sit to the left of your Haz and HRW switches or are they in a lower console?

What make of alarm is it?

Asking these questions so I can ascertain interior type because there are now 3 different versions all with differeing electronics.

Does it have central locking and power windows?

3 doors or 5?

thanks for anwering.

switches lie in a lower comsole.

The make of the alarm is rightclick. (https://www.rclick.co.uk/pdf/car_security_installation_guide.pdf)

The car already has a central lock and electric windows.

It is a 3 door model.

My knowledge applies to right hand drive cars:- so if anything is the wrong side apologies!

Loom driver's floor BROWN / white (warning, 2 cables this colour, test) door contacts, thin BLACK / YELLOW (or yellow/black) hatch contact, BLACK/ white and BLACK/ green hazards, grey/red gray /green ( might be white base colour, check, these cables are multiple joined on this loom so that's your clue,) lock and unlock pos. N.B. extend lock timing to close windows, Brown is ground,  black is ign. sense and red at ign switch is 12v+

Hood contact if factory installed is brown red at switch, this becomes BLACK/ green in loom near to bulkhead (firewall) on suspension strut, take care if joining there because right /hand indicator same colour is in that loom. Do NOT attempt to remove  passenger glove box for any reason, there are 36 T20 ntorx screws holding it!!  Good Luck

Thank you very much for the reply. But I didn't quite understand (I'm italian posted_image)what you refer to "LOOM ON THE DRIVERS FLOOR"; (is it under the drivers floor mat?) can you explain me a bit more specifically (I would appreciate very much any picture or diagram).

As fot the wires the explanation is clear and I'll follow your instructions as soon as I get to the "LOOM" where they are located.

Thanks again

Apologies, there should be a main wiring loom running from area of fusebox down the kickpanel and then UNDER THE EDGE OF THE CARPET WHERE IT MEETS THE DOOR to the rear.
