I am putting a Viper 791XV into a 1995 Nissan Maxima. I was wondering what color/polarity/where the clutch wire is? And what the proper method is for this vehicle/RS combo. I know it's not made for clutches. I have also found that the Neutral Safety Wire is GREEN/ orange at a Switch on the Driver's Side. Where exactly is it?

Thanks for any and all help

I would like to think that you would be using a 689m on that vehicle, being that the viper system is not 5 speed safe. You probably won't get much help from people on here unless you purchase that part or buy a system that is 5 speed safe.

test your clutch wire. there are 2 type is systems

Postive

if there is cruise control, there will be 2 switches at the top of the clutch pedal. One wire will show 12volt when key is on IGNITION, and th eother will show 12volts when the clutch is pressed. if you have a postive system, connect your start wire from your alarm to the wire that shows 12 when the clutch is pressed.

Negative

if there is cruise there will be 2 switches as well. One will show constant ground, and the other shows ground when clutch is pressed. To bypass a negative clutch, you will require a relay. I just helped my neighbour put a unit into his MT car as well.

Relay connection
Relay terminal 85 to ground out when running from remote starter
Relay terminal 86 to constant 12v
Relay terminal 30 to wire that shows ground when clutch is pressed
Relay terminal 87 to high current ground (chassis)

Good Luck

also when you connect your neutral safety wire (hand brake) it will also be good if you did this. From reading around i decided to do this for my neighbour. Getting his middle consol open, i tapped into the handbrake switch, on the shifter, i used medium sized copper wire and wrapped it a few rounds in the middle then exteneded the ends enough so when it was in gear, it would touch ground. i then added a wire from there to go to the optional pin/trigger input. So now when his car is in gear, it wont remote start, it will just show on his pager that the hood is open so starting is prohibited

The original poster is probably referring to the fact that the Maxima has a wire at the factory ECU that indicates when the car is in neutral or in gear. You should be able to find the ECU behind the glovebox.

Usually you just need to hook a ground when running wire to one of the clutch wires to temporary bypass the clutch.

A negative "start" trigger on the GREEN/ orange, @ the clutch switch will bypass the clutch.

I REALLY hope your install goes as planned.......your remote start is NOT for a manual trans. OK, OK, I know....the neutral safety....blah, blah, blah.  It's NOT safe.

thanks for the detailed information, i might be performing this soon,

as far as the trunk pop and pin, i think its all one wire (-) in the car, do i diode isolate? and does the trunk pop need a high current ground relay? do i also need a relay for the 2nd starter? if so, could someone give me the pin-outs?

thanks again,
morteza

since the trunk pop and trunk trigger is on the same negative wire, do i need to diode isolate each to avoid backfeed?

as of right now, bench prepped, for the trigger, the cathode is away from the brain, for the pop, the cathode is on the brain-side. I have it like this b/c it's a negative signal, is it correct?

thanks for any additional information,
morteza

Its impossible for trunk pop and trunk trigger to be on the same wire. What brought you to that conclusion?

Trunk ReleasePurple / YELLOW (-) Driver's Kick Panel
Trunk PinPurple / YELLOW (-) Driver's Kick or BCM below Radio

^, unless they are identical and in the same location, which seems unlikely. what do i do?

Test it, thats what you should do.

I installed a 791XVR without RS into a 1995 Nissan Maxima SE Manual. The problem is that, when disarming the alarm, the doors don't unlock and the receiver shows door open and the sensor (i think, shock sensor) goes off. It arms fine, i think maybe since the factory disarm is the same as unlock, its not on the right wire, or lost its connection. Also, the led still flashes after opening the door, as if the factory hasn't been disarmed.

To unlock (GREEN/ YELLOW) required 2 pulses.
