On the 05 Pathfinder with factory keyless, does the factory setup have a auxilary trigger that can be used to signal an add on remote start from DE or should I put in a complete system?  All I am looking for isremote start and keyless not a lot of extra security.  Obviously I will need to handle to transponder as well.

Myself (really just my opinion) I would not like the idea of needing to push the lock button 3 or 4 times to start my car. Or any other multitude of combinations.

All of the remote start manufacturers make a stand alone unit that does just start and a few convenience features.

Astro, Compustar, AST, and DEI (of course)

I know what is avaiable.  My question though, is a yes or no question.  Does the factory keyless have an auxillary trigger or channel and if so what wire and what activates it?

No it does not. As KarTuneMan has already stated, you can do a lock/lock type installation or do a one button to retain using your factory remotes. The Nissan remotes have pretty decent range, nothing like an aftermarket system but they work pretty well. Unlike KarTuneMan, I prefer to do a lock/lock in those trucks...but I am lazy. posted_image

Thanks

I am probably just going to do a viper then, since I have a complete one sitting here.  One other question.  I know it is a trnsponder key.  I have used the 555u before using an extra key.  I recently was searching and found the bypasskit XK07 which is said to need a key to program only and then is wired into the factory harness.  Any knowledge or experience?  It costs like $90 which is probably still less then Nissan will want for an extra key.

Actually that brings up a question for me as well.    I avoid cutting wires any time I can, some vehicle you do not have a choice but to cut wires but when there is another option that allows you to avoid cutting a wire I will go that route. I have always done the key in a box bypass for Nissan's because the XK07 requires cutting the LED wire. Does anyone know if you can install the XK07 without interfacing that LED circuit? Does it just keep the light from blinking when remote started? Does it hurt anything if not hooked up?

And, find yourself a locksmith, most of the time a locksmith is cheaper than a dealer for replacement keys. Not all locksmiths can do vehicles and not all vehicles can be done by a locksmith but the Nissan's can be done.

Hey Twelv I wil be sending that on Monday.

On another note, I have a Viper 300ESP That I have put in.  I found two starter wires, a larger gray, which I cut and wired in the starter kill relay, this prevents the starter from turning.  There is also a light green wire that shows voltage at start.  When I install the 561T remote start, can I just hook it into the gray after the starter kill?  It only has one start wire and if I hook it to both won't that cause the starter kill not to work?

You need to power both starter wires for RS. The second starter wire in your Pathfinder only comes in to play when the vehicle is cold but it is a necessary connection. Yes wire the heavy purple from the 561T to the out side of your starter kill relay. Use the small purple wire 200mA second starter turn on to power a relay wired like:

85: Purple 200mA starter wire from 561T
86 and 30: Fused +12V constant
87: Out to second starter light green wire in truck

Just a curiosity question: why didn't you mention the 300ESP in the first post? Just hook the RED / white or WHITE/ blue aux output from the 300ESP to the WHITE/ blue - activation input on the 561T and program it to one pulse activation. Also, follow the instructions on page 17 of the 300ESP installation manual for bypassing the shock sensor when remote starting.
