Hi everyone . I just installed power Locks in my 2007 chevy silverado new body style but they seem to have a problem . When actuated, they only move a small amount in either direction on both doors ,so i checked the voltage going to them when actuated and they are only getting 3.7 volts from the module. I would think they need 12 volts.. The module has a good power feed from the fuse panel and a good ground. I had a extra lock solenoid so i put 12 volts and ground to it to see how much power and movement it has and it moves perfectly .So the lack of voltage is my problem it seems. I'm guessing a bad lock control module new out of the box. Anyone have any other ideas or maybe some thing i missed.

is the module itself fused? you checked voltage on the module side of the fuse while operating the locks (under a load)? could just replace the module with some relays

does the system you are using have internal relays? im guessing not as many syatems nowadays have invertable - and + pulses which would be around 3 volts
if this is true, just add 2 relays to the wires and all will be well
pin 85 to module(lock or unlock) pin 86 to 12 volts
pin 87a to ground, pin 86 to 12 volts, pin 30 to corresponding wire on actuator do this for both relays and youll be all set

Jim Thanks for the Idea. That's exactly what i will use then, i didn't even think of that lol. I did email the place i got the kit from and they are sending me a new control module ,but i have a funny feeling its gonna do the same thing . I will let yas know if the module fixes it or not. Got the new module today and it still does the same thing 3.7 volts and little actuator movement. So i will be adding the two relays . It Just cracks me up the directions say nothing about having to use relays . Guess you get what you pay for . They cost me 40 bucks for 4 doors. Thanks for the help Guys..... posted_image

Power locks are fixed. When I pulled the wiring harness through the door jam one of the wires pulled out af a splice it seems it wasn't crimped very good. Kinda drove me batty for a while but i found it tonight with my Power Probe 3. posted_image

That is one reason I solder about 90% to 95% of my connections. No chance of them pulling apart that easy.
