I was degreasing my motor today. Up til now my alarm worked perfectly, after I sprayed down the motor & started the motor to help dry it off. Thats when I noticed my alarm status light was solid (on). Every time I arm or disarm the horn does not chirp.

I cant figure out why, the only external connection/wire is the wire to the siren. I thought it was a bad gound, so I removed the horn ground, and the LED status remains unchanged, always on.

Has anyone experienced this before?? Where/What could be causing this problem?

Thanks

Rich

Your alarm system is in Valet mode. You did not post the exact model number of your system so it is hard to say exactly how you put it into valet mode. Try opening a door, turn the ignition on then off and press the valet/programming button. If this does not work try turning the ignition on, leaving it on and pressing that button with the door open. The exact method of how to put a system into and out of valet mode is described in detail in the owner's manual for your specific system. Once you know the exact model number of your system head over to Clifford's owner's guide site and grab your manual.
