Where is the factory disarm wire at in this vehicle and how do i wake up the gem? i am adding a remote start and alarm.the vehicle is a 2001 ford explorer. Also can i catch a tach wire inside the vehicle?? Thanks for the info

OEM Alarm DISARM is at the drivers kick panel DARK GREEN/ PURPLE..For the GEM wake up diagram go to my website and look up the Ford section for DIY and there's a link to the GEM wake Up Diagram there. Good luck.

I've got the same problem and I can't find the correct wire. In fact I hate to admit it, but I don't know what is meant by the kick panel? I've taken the drivers door off but can't find the wire there so I assume that thats not the kick panel. next I took off the panel under the dash by the emergency brake but there were no wires there. I am confused.

The kick panel is the plastic piece that covers the side of the lower foot area by the emergency foot brake.

Pulse the unlock wire and disarm wire at the sametime and program your alarm to double pulse. This way the first pulse will wake-up the GEM and the second pulse will unlock doors. This should help.

P.S. use diodes to isolate wires.
