hi im goin to install a Viper 771XV alarm & remote start to a 2000 Nissan Maxima and was wondering if i would have to use a relay as there are two ignition wires, also i see that there is a ignition 3 wire for cold starts, not really sure what that is and what to wire it to, and if theres anything else i need your information will be gladly appreciated, thanks

ps i also have the 556u for the chipped key, thanks

If I remember correctly, ACC wire can be turn into an IGN to be your third. Check w/ the progrmming.

556u will works fine. So youre on the right track.

My info shows 2 ignitions 2 starters and 1 accy.

ign. 1 = BLACK/ red

ign. 2 = RED / Yellow

Starter 1 = BLACK/ red

Starter 2 = BLACK/ blue

accy = WHITE/ blue

Use the two ignition wires on you 771 pink + pink/white for the ignitions. Use the green and purple off of the 771 for the 1st starter. You will need to wire up a relay for starter number 2. use the four pin harness that plugs into the back of the relay pack to activate the relay. There will be a smaller ga. purple wire that gives you a (-) starter output. Use that to activate the relay to power starter number 2. Use the orange wire off of the 771 to power the accy.

I sort of help during install. We came about a few problems. First the security system works fine, siren sound when hood is proped, doors opened, and car does not start when key is turned. So security is fine.

Problems: It does not start and when power lock are used the factory alarm sounds(horn). I believe the problem is the way the relay is being wired up or the factory alarm disarm. Ikhmaifosho will go into detail with this.

If you wired everything properly, try placing the key in the ignition but do not turn it over. Now remote start the vehicle and if it starts and runs, then you do not have the wires wrapped over the ignition cylinder enough time or it's not in the proper location to induce the signal from the key.

also do i have to disarm the factory security module?

as for the 3rd ignition i treated like a second start and wired it like so with the relay

30 = BLACK/ Blue Start side

87 = BLACK/ Blue Key Side

85 = Pink (-) 200ma 3rd ignitons output on the relay off the relay satellite wiring small gauge

86 = wired to acc then 12v nothing

If I am not mistaken....you cannot trigger a second starter, with an ign. input.

And you most certainly don't need to CUT the wire and seperate it out on the the pins of the relay.  (like you did, starter side, and key side)

put the wire back together. Configure a relay to "throw" 12volts. to be triggered by a negative output that syas "second start" it's got to be there.... it's a viper.

Relay as such 12v fused to 87, and 86. negative starter out from the brain to 85. 30 attach to your second start......

The is NO 3rd. ign.

There is NO 2nd accs. needed (there may be a wire that tersts as nd accs. but it's not needed)

Batt.=Dk.green

Ign= blk/red (medium sized)

start1=blk/red (big one)

start2=blk/blue

accs=red

Do the second starter like the diagram i posted on the first page. Also the factory security will arm with lock, and disarm with unlock. Make sure you set double pulse unlock as well.

thanks guys great info, can't wait to finish it up this weekend, also for the power doorlocks not really sure about the double pulse, i found and some wires on the factory security module which tested 12v when pressed lock/unlock, tapped on to them but didn't respond when i lock/unlock on the transmitter? also i dont think this was covered but do i ahve to disarm the factory alarm, if so which wire, thanks for all your support.

NO, the factory alarm arms on lock, and disarms with unlock on the remote.
