I'm looking at putting my RS727 unit on my new truck..being a 05 Dodge 3500 with diesel and manual tranny.  I got the wiring info, no problems there nor with the diesel...I guess. (opinions/problems!?!!?)    but what about the manual tranny??  How do I work around this??  Has anyone else installed on this type of truck...any problems/pros/cons I need to know about??  Thanks in advance for the help!!

and sorry for the second post...but I couldn't find a EDIT link for my original...but are their any modules required for this truck??  It is a 05 with factory ketless entry...and the keys are their basic round keys, no chips or anything I think.  I had some spares cut today at the hardware store that worked fine....so I wasn't sure!!  Thanks again!!

First things first..... from what I was able to dig up on this unit, it did not appear to be designed for a manual transmission vehicle.

So to do it correctly, and safely, get one that is!

You see, you don't "work around" the manual trans. you work with it.

Still trying to figure out which model, if there is one a Autopage or Prestige that will work with my manual tranny.  Thanks.

If you pick up a 689M from DEI it will make the Autopage safe to use in a manual transmission. The 689M requires the proper sequence of events like all other manual transmission compatible remote starts before providing a ground to the neutral safety input of the system. Your 727 does have a neutral safety input wire so adding the 689M would make your system compatible with your truck.

With all that being said, it would be easier to pick up a unit that is designed for a manual transmission to eliminate the need for the extra wiring/control box.
