I have been noticing several posts about installing remote starts in a standard transmission vehicle. I know there are units designed to do this. I have no idea who makes one. I have noticed several of us are telling them to go that route. Others are telling them to just always leave your car in neutral and bypass the clutch switch. And the inquiring person will say I ALWAYS park my car in neutral. My buddy said that too. Few weeks ago he drove his BMW into a tree, after it started in gear. It could have been in a parking lot and jammed some little old lady up against the car in front of him. This, in my opinion, is just as unsafe as watching your D3 while driving down the road. We close those topics. I am sure you know of at least one company that makes a suitable product for this need. Maybe we could offer that info then close the topic.

The Canadian version of the Compustar systems are all manual or automatic compatible. Has to go through a READY MODE sequence in order to get the vehicle to remote start.

Clifford I/start IV was manual compatible, the I/Start V is still sold here, also MAN 1 for any alarm I believe the US equivalent from DEI is 684m

The nss should make any car starter safe eh? havent had a problem yet, just incovenienced customers when they forget that they cant open a door.........

Autostart(autostart, pro start, polar start) and Compustar(compustar, nu-start, staub start and arctic start) both make extremly reliable manual transmission ready starters.

i beleive u can make a automatic start safe on a manual trans with a module by DEI for manual transmission. Havent used it before , but im sure some1 has.

whew, leaving it in neutral is shure putting a lot of faith in the parking brake. Unless the vehicles has air brakes, I will not do RS on a manual tranny car.

Ultrastart makes manual - compatable models. They are so easy, why would you want to micky-mouse an automatic-only starter to work in a manual. I have never used the add-on NSS units on the market so I can not comment on them.

Never done any RS on manual transmission. I think it is a tad risky and not user friendly from what I have heard on the "sequence" you must exit your car if you want it to remotely start the next morning. Pay a neighbor kid $200.00 to start your car for you for the next few years. Think, no dead remote batteries. Ha ha.  ------------- The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
