Hoping someone here can help me out.I'm trying to integrate another device to the EOM alarm in a 2003 Jeep grand Cherokee.Hoping someone could tell me the color codes and locations of the wires I can use to tell when the OEM alarm is armed/disarmed. Also if I should be looking for high/low constant or pulse signal. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about the 03's, but in an 02 you can use a DEI 455J door lock interface control module. This will control door lock, unlock, arm, disarm, dome light supervision and more.

On 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee:

Factory Arm: Arms with lock

Factory Disarm: lt. GREEN/ orange-- Factory alarm disarm requires a 463 ohm resistor to ground on the lt.GREEN/ orange wire at the drivers door lock switch, you MUST use a relay.

In order to work the factory security you will need a part like dei's 455J. If you either don't want to buy it or can't afford it at the moment then you will be unable to use the factory security. If you just want to add your own alarm without the interface then you must go into each door and five wire the doorlocks, I would aslo tag the individual door triggers as well. Also the signal is digital, either on or off and variations of voltage and timing, if you want to test this you may need an O-scope, at least to accurately test.

Thanks for the information so far.Let me try to add some more information. I'm trying to add another systemto the existing OEM alarm. I just need to know when the OEM alarm is armedand when it is disarmed. Sounds like from the replies so far that whenever the doors are locked the alarmis armed. Do I have this right? and when unlock then unarmed? If this is correctthen what happend if you lock the doors while you are driving?Also someone mention that the door locks are not just a high/low level or pulsebut actually a digital signal? Could anyone shed more light on this?Thanks a lot.
