I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota that i bought used. A few days ago i was rewiring a speaker that the previous owner cut. While i was doing this i noticed a KARR 2040 Module. So I browse the net looking for info and find some remotes that are suppose to work with it. When I got the remotes it tells me to use the valet switch to program remote. I do not have a valet switch with mine, instead i have something that looks like a headphone port. Does this mean that the alarm is not ready? Can i just add a switch? If its not ready what would i need to do to, well, hack it to ready status?

forgot to mention that the module only has 2 dip switches inside. Both switches are in the "on" position.

The push button has been broken off, so this is what you can do. If you look at the brain, you'll see that there is a blue plug that has a grey wire, and a black wire. Since all the push button is just making a momentary contact when pushed, you can recreate that by cutting those 2 wires, stripping some insulation off, and then touching them together when needed.........so, basically, turn the ignition on, touch those 2 wires together 3 times, the horn will chirp, push lock on the first tx, push lock on second tx, turn ignition off....you should be set. If you decide you just want a new switch, let me know, i have a ton of em.
