Sup guys... I have a 2000 Dodge Neon and it didn't come with a trunk release button so I decided to buy a kit so the neon could.... I just hate having to use my key to open the trunk... Anyways I brought a kit off and I wanted to see how I should hook it up... I also have an alarm but I don't wanna hook it up to it... I just want hook it up to a 12v source and the button that it came with...

I have a 30amp relay that I would like to hook it up with... I searched but got even more confused... lol... I already know which wires do what on the neon.. I just need help setting up the wires on the relay to the switch and to the solenoid.. I know I can just  run the switch with a fuse to a 12v source and run the power wire straight to the soleniod but I would like to see other ways of doing so...

So I would really appreciate it if someone can help me out and/or point me in th right direction...

Here's how you'll set up your relay:

85: 12 volts fused (+)

86: --------------------------(button)----------------------->Ground

87: to (+) wire on solenoid

30: 12 volts fused (+)

The second wire on the solenoid goes to ground

If you wanted to get fancy, you can connect your alarm's trunk output wire (-) to the 86 terminal on the above relay in parallel with the button, and it'll allow you to pop your trunk w/ the keyfob.
