Hey guys! It has been a good couple of years since the last auto start I have done. I have a 2007 Ford Fusion with no memory seats, and installing a Scosche CM4200A remote start with a Directed 556U bypass.
So I had a few questions for you guys.
1) Feel pretty comfortable with the wiring except for the tach. Anyone know what wire I need to use. I read a little about how the new vehicles don't really have a "tach wire". So any help there would be great.
2) Stupid question, but for the park light output do I need any relays, or just connect it to the correct wire?
3) Since I am not using the remote locks, trunk pop, (I have them on the factory key), do I need to know anything else?
Thank you guys in advance!

ur wires that u will tap into for the PATS bypass follows RX - Yellow/Orange TX - PURPLE / Gray
1)Your tach wire is PURPLE / Brown @ coil in engine bay 2) your parking lights are postive trigggers. The unit should have built in parking light relays. connect the wire to Gray / YELLOW in drivers kick panel, Look for the first connector inside panel to the top of fuse box. The parking light wire is Gray / YELLOW Pin 31. 3) well if u dont connect the door locks, when u remote start ur car, the factory key fobs no longer work. Might as well wire up the keyless entry and factory disarm wires. If you dont connect factory disarmll wail on you.

Tedmond,
Thanks for the info. A couple more questions if you do not mind.
1) What does the "RX & TX" stand for? Are those the wires at the factory transponder ring? If is that located at the ignition? Also, did I get the correct by-pass?
2) I understand the tach wire. Run this wire to the engine bay to the coil, correct?
3) I assume with this remote start unit, if I do the keyless entry, I will not need any relays as well? Just tap into the factory wiring?
Thanks again!!

Sorry, one more.
Does anyone know where the physical location of the tach wire at the coil is located? I took a quick glance, but did not see it.
Thanks-again!

1) What does the "RX & TX" stand for? Are those the wires at the factory transponder ring? If is that located at the ignition? Also, did I get the correct by-pass? the RX - receive TX- Transfer. Those wires will come out of the transponder ring. If you dont tap into the wires, you cna just place the big loop around. Some cars require u to cut into the wires. Try the ring around the ignition cylinder first, if that dont work i suggest u cut and solder.
2) I understand the tach wire. Run this wire to the engine bay to the coil, correct? yes run the wire to the engine bay. I havent done a fusion, but it should be under a plastic loom that is tapped. 3) I assume with this remote start unit, if I do the keyless entry, I will not need any relays as well? Just tap into the factory wiring? it really depends on the brand of remote start. If u can tell me what company it is i can determine if u require relays. usually they are postive or negative. I got Type B locks (-) so if ur remote has a negative for locks, those wires can be connected to the factory door lock relays and ur set. |

Temond,
Thanks for all the input. I feel way more confident then I did at first.
The remote start is a Scosche CM4200A. It says it does have (-) Unlock/Lock outputs.
So, no relays necessary?
Hey, thanks again for the info! That will save me a ton of time! Shawn

The doorlocks will respond to the factory keyfob even when the car is remote started. -------------
