I'm installing a Design Tech Add-On remote starter to a 2003 Chevy Tahoe and I have one last wire but I'm not quite sure how to get to where it needs to go. Does anybody know how to get inside the door to the controls underneath there? Thank you, also has anyone ever installed one of these and had to actually program the factory keyless entry to start the car or will hooking up this last wire to the lock button do that for me? Thank you

The door panel should be easy. Just make sure you try to get all the screws behind and underneath the door handle. On most Chevy's the hardest part is to get the plastic plate off the door handle as you need to pull it or push it as it unclips away from the handle and then it exposes a screw or teo behind the plastic plate. I'm not familiar with the Design Tech units but you tap into the lock wire for the remote starter activation . When you press the OEM remote FOB 3 times, this engages the starting sequence on the Design Tech.

Those units actually look for two pulses on the unlock to start. Often the units have to be "initialized" by opening the hood, shifting the car into gear and back. Then it should work.
Good Luck!

Also on the Design Tech addon units there is usually no 3rd ignition but you will need one to bypass the Passlock system. I would suggest next time staying away from a Design Tech product and going with a superior product at about the same price such as DEI or Audiovox (Prestige)
Good Luck and def. Hook Up Tach Wire!!
