Greetings, I'm installing an ultra start WB-125 into a 2005 Dodge Dakota. everything is in and working but the parking lights. The wire going to the light switch (Pink/Red) is a negative trigger and spec's tell me i need a 1130 Ohm  resistor. the remot starter output is 12V + (10Amp)

Here's my best guess at connecting: 12V + output from Remote starter module to relay Pin 86, Pin 87 to 1130 Ohm resistor, resistor to Pink/Red wire.  Pins 85 an 30 to ground.

Any input is welcome

Thanks Bob

Yeah, you have it right:

85: ground

86: 12volt+ from r/s brain

87: to 1130ohm resistor then to parking light wire on Dodge

30: ground

Should work fine .. however, on Chyrsler products, I've had to play around with resistance before, even though I had the exact amount -- i think there is a small percentage variance in vehicles and the resistors, so it can be a bit of a pain.

Thank you peterubers.

Lights work, however i do get a check engine light. DTC  U1120. I used a 1500 Ohm resistor cause it's all I could find. could the Resistance value be triggering the DTC?

Is ther such a thing as an 1130 Ohm resistor? Not at RadioShack.

Thanks

Bob

You can put resistors in series or parallel to adjust the required resistance. So if you pick up a 1K resistor a 100ohm and a 30ohm and wire them end to end you will get 1130ohms.

The three resistors in series caused the headligthts to turn on as well as the parking lamps. i wen t back to the 1.5k Ohm. Everything works perfectly except i still get a check engine light. I've erased the DTC code a number of times but keep getting check engine light with a U1120 DTC code.

Any ideas?

For the parking light you can use a positive WHITE/ grey  at the junction  box on the left side near the door lock wire !
