I am TRYING to get a Bull Dog Security remote starter working in my wife's 2001 Santa Fe 2.7. The unit seems to do everything it is supposed to EXCEPT actually crank over the engine. In tachless mode, it will turn on the accessories, and you can hear the fuel pump prime, but no cranking. In Tach mode, you just see the accessories come on but no fuel pump prime. I am sure I have the wiring correct - although every website I have found have the ignition wiring harness wire colors wrong. Everywhere I look says that 12v const is red and blue, when it is actually red and orange. I dont know what to do....

Has anyone here successfully gotten their 2001 Santa Fe wired for remote start? Right now all I have is a glorified keyless entry setup...

KIA/Hyundai made in Canada may have a transponder in their keys unlike here in the us they do not. You will need a bypass of some kind or an extra key that you can bury under the dash and wire wrap it and run to a relay so remote start sends signal to transponder receiver at ignition cylinder. I would cut the teeth off key for security integrity, no one will just be able to find a key and take off with the car.
Theses are the wires color audiovox has on tech:
Battery      RED          (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 1   16 GAUGE BLUE   (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 2   PINK          (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Accessory 1 GREEN          (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Starter 1    BLUE          (+)   IGNITION HARNESS (SMALLER OF TWO)

-------------
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

1. Test to see if you have the right starter wire. Yes, the tech sheets are often very wrong.

Put your test light to the Bulldog's starter wire output, and start the car with the key......if your test light doesn't light up, you've got the wrong wire.

2. To determine if the car has an immobilizer key, try the remote start again, but with the key sitting in the ignition (but not turned on).
