I believe this is the alarm I will now purchase. I gave up on impulse!  Should I know anything special before I order this. will I need any additional relays or anything. Will I need something to convert my door locks? This is a link to the alarm's official website where all of its info is listed:   It is model      CS-2011RS

thanks

This would be a better system than the IMP3100 or the 990. This looks to be a basic unit and the GMC wiring will not be a problem. The unit does not have alternating door lock polarities so you will need to add 2 relays. Look at page 11 of the install manual for the diagram of a positive door lock system.

You can get relays at alomost any electronics store or try Wal-Mart as well. They range from $ 2 - $ 5 depending on where you get it and what brand name.

MCM Electronics offers a nice relay setup too. A standard 30 amp relay with a mounting tab and a plug with a pigtail for a couple of bucks. They have a nice selection of a little this and that for these kinds of projects. They have website to order from too. I have been dealing with them for a quite a few years for this kind of stuff and they are pretty good. I'm pretty sure that they are a Crimestopper dealer too.
