canconfirm that, me neighbour has an A4, and we did madd searches for any bypasskits out there. YOu need to do KIB and thats ur best bet, or just use a relay and that will do the job too. less reliable but works

relay
- 86 to 12v const
- 85 ground out when running
- 30 long loop to ignition (wrap few times )and back
- loop wire from 30 to 87

Will the CAN1 module be used in place of a universal key in box or is that used to more or less set up more features with less wiring?

What is the CAN1 module used for, can it be used in place of a key in box bypass kit? Is it worth the money?

If time is an issue yes it's worth the money. If making direction connection to the vehicle is not your strength, by all means use it.

The CAN1 is just an interface module that does all the feature of locks, trunks... etc , basically you make all your connection from your remote starter unit to the can1 module, and from the can1 module you make a two wire connection to the vehicle data wires. It's a time saver when it all works!

CAN 1 only does the convenience feature, and yes you still new the spare key in the box for the bypass.

"VW / AUDI ORIGINAL EQUIPEMENT CAN BUS CONTROL INTERFACE MODULE Controls door locks, trunk release, interior lights, windows up/down, sunroof, headlights, parking lights, turn signals, hazard lights, fuel door, radio, horn in select VW and Audi vehicles. Communicates via data with Directed ESP2 equipped systems."
