did u allow a delay on your remote start or hook up the wait-to-start wire on your car if it sa diesel, it allows the plugs to heat ur properly.

Sounds like you have a transponder on that car.  Your trying to say that the car doesnt turn on...you just hear the car trying to turn on?  Try this out: Leave the key in the ignition(do not turn key at all) and see if it turns on when you remote start the car.  Also, make sure your tach is learned.

Can you discribe the noise? is it a grinding, a clicking, a buzzing? Does it happen once and stop? Is it repetitive? Is it a constant noise for as long as the car is under control of the remote start? You could have missed an accessory wire. Is there any way that you could post up the wire colors that you made connections to?

This does sound like the starter motor grinding, are you sure the tach has been learned OR check your setting on the starter crank time.

yeap thats engine grind for sure. Make sure u go the TACH method. it prevents overcrank and damage to ur starter.

the alarm i have does not have a engine crank time option and the tach is learned

switch that unit over to "smart start" and see if it still does it.  if it goes away its your starter grinding and you don't have a good tach.

if your fuel pump wasn't turning on the vehicle would not run.

i would still try it, you have yet to specify where the noise is originating from so its pretty hard to diagnose over a forum.

take a video of he car starting. that way we can hear and determine whats goinon.

Easy way to find out, take 1 DMM, black probe to ground, red probe to starter output on R/S, set to 20vDC and use your remote, see for how long it gives a reading and if it concides with the noise!  Better still use a test light, it's easier to tell.

N/O

Remove the clutch bypass and sit in the vehicle and press the clutch down with your foot. If noise goes away, chances are it's your bypass for the clutch. I know it sounds weird but you need to start removing parts of the starting sequence in order to find out what part is actually the problem. Post your results.

BTW, I have done many manual trans VW's without a problem.
