I installed a ADS TBSL FM bypass module on a 2000 Ford Windstar. I used the RS232 port and made the 3 connections at the ignition switch. The initial programming went well and the starter worked great ...for the first day. The next day was a different story, the van wouldn't start with the remote and the bypass appeared to have "forgot" the programming. When the starter button was pressed the "theft" light flashed and the vehicle would go through the pre-start routine but the starter wouldn't engage. With the key in the ignition the remote starter worked fine. I reset the bypass and reprogrammed (again with no problems) and the remote starter is working fine again. Has anyone run into this problem? The battery was disconnected after the initial programming but the remote starter worked fine (for a while) afterward... Thanks in advance for your help. What kind of remote starter did you install?

yes I have seen that problem more then once especially on ford and mazda's cause it's almost the same programing, but it usually doesn't happen twice to the same module. I did an install on an 08 ranger and somehow after about two or three weeks of proper remote starting the car wouldn't work when the customer came back we checked the module on the computer and it had mysteriously become gm programming so we used a new module and have had no problems since. If that module you used acts up again just use a new one . hope that helps

Plug in the module and make sure it has the right firmware. Also make sure you have a currenty version. With the Solo series people tend to NOT check for updates. You might have an old version.

The starter is an Autostart 1414i. The module worked fine this morning, keeping my fingers crossed... ------------- I should have known better

Don't use the RS232 on any Autostarts with an earlier build date of Feb 2007. This is just something that I've learned with experience of using Auto Starts. If it has the new style CPU, it should be OK. If it's still the standard CPU from last year, then use the standard wiring for the iDatalink.

No problems like this with compustar, the TB modules works where the others fails. best module EVER Had the problem with the Nordic Start product and it a Autostart bug. Everytime we had the problem, we confirm the bypass was not giving led flash on r.s. no gwr from Nordic RS232 glitch idatalnk did a patch to repair Nordic bug (autostart DENY they say it's bypass module) Why just autostart? datalink they even did they module record when on the car. They check everything and can debug the prob. from a 100 miles. I was thiking module stopped, they pulled the data on the internet explained the problem with Nordic and clone my key all in 10 minutes at 100 miles program was done with my name (my customer freaked never seen support like this in our life) just turned the ignition on and was ready to go. the guys are freak there, never had to reprogram the module to the car and work 100% since

Update... Module failed again after a couple of weeks. Build date on the Autostart was fall of 2006, followed advice and re-wired using the standard method, been working for 3 or 4 days now and so far so good!
