Hello, Last year I had a Viper 560xv installed in my car. It is the unit that includes remote starting as well as alarm. Well the unit worked great for sometime. It still works perfectly to arm/disarm, lock/unlock, aux, etc. The problem is that when I perform a remote start, the car starts like it should then after about 20 seconds or so, the car dies and no function of the system works after that. Then after driving the car for awhile..sometimes a day sometimes a week, etc the unit comes back to life and functions normally again until I do another remote start. Then the cycle starts all over. What does this sound like, and where should I begin? I can take it back to the shop, but im afraid they will just tell me to get a new unit, just to sell me something. So I want to be sure I am educated on what might cause this so i can tell them what I want them to check. Thanks in advance!

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

Sounds like a problem with the brain -- but always make sure all the wiring connections are intact first before blaming the brain...

Although it is possible that it is a bad brain, this sounds like a bad ground to me.
If it is the brain it should be a warranty job, should not cost you anything.

Well, I will check the ground wire myself then. Its only 1 wire, right?
