Just wondering if anyone new off hand which colors the rx and tx wires are

The way I always approach the Ford PATS wiring is:

If the first pin is ground and the second pin is ignition the third pin is RX and the fourth is TX. If the first pin is ignition and the second pin is ground then pin three is TX and pin four is RX.

yes the first was ground 2nd ignition. the reason i was asking

the color was that ignition cover is a bitch to put back on. And the wires go from that green plug into

the cluter of power starter ect......

RX - GRAY/ORANGE
TX - WHITE/ GREEN
IGNITION - RED / YELLOW
GROUND - BLACK/ LIGHT BLUE

does anybody have a vehicle guide for RX/TX wiring? I know they are all very similar, but my brain is full of way too much useless stuff to remember these. To my understanding you can't test for RX/TX wires either, right?

I have all that stuff in my computer and in my head posted_image

You can test for RX/TX with an LED test light. It will flash a certain number of times if it's an RX and a TX code. Regular multi meters or test lights can not test for it because it's too slow.

I was under a dash ... actually several of them posted_image

The Rendezvous is really easy to do. It's basically a Pontiac Torrent/ Chevy Equinox. Use a data module if you want for door locks and if you choose not to, lock and unlock uses the same wire. Lock requires a negative trigger with a 470 ohm resistor in-line. Unlock is negative trigger. Most of the time you can use the (-) off the RS unit as long as it outputs at least 300 ma

an LED testlight mmmmmmmmmm never heard of it.

i still have so much to learn this is only my 2nd winter at this,and sice were a glass and tint shop we dont bother in the summer. So what you learn in the winter you forget in the summer.

1 more question, when you hook up a heated seat and remote start the truck will the light on the heated seat switch come on?

Yes it should. It should react exactly the same as if the key was put into the ignition switch and your were in the vehicle pushing the button.
