Put an Astro 2504a w/ chrdaa bypass into an 03 liberty last Friday. Customer called yesterday saying that when she drove at night, the headlights would go off and then come back on. I test drove this evening and sure enough. Hit the brake and the headlights would go out but not every time I hit the brake. Maybe every 5th or 6th time. Not sure what to think of this. Bad brain? Bad parklight circuit or wiring? Could I diode isolate the brake wire somehow? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

If you are an Astro dealer...I would most definatly call tech support.

Where did you get the brake connection from, parking lights? Any other option used?

So I got this Liberty back in over the weeekend. After diode isolating the brake wire, changing location of main ground a couple times, disconnecting park light circuit, changing brain for new one, I finally unhooked the bypass kit (CHRDAA) problem went away. So what is in this bypass kit that would possibly cause this problem? I normally use bypasskit.com so I am very unfamiliar with Fortin's products. Would there be something I could diode to rectify this? I would rather not have to put a new bypass in as all I have in stock bypasskit and that would mean rewiring everything. Obviously something is backfeeding somewhere but from what and to where?

Finally got fed up tonight and put in a xk531 chdl4 bypass. Problem solved. Makes me wonder that if I isolated a couple wires off the chrdaa like you have to do on the xk kit that may have solved the problem. Oh well, problem no gone and lady not phoning me five times a day.
