Hi all,
after searching and reading numerous threads on priority unlocking and 2-stage and timed pulsed triggers, I just need a little more direction for my given application.
Immobiliser/Alarm: Rhino RAv2
Has the following connections for central locking:
Lock Com Unlock Com
Lock NO Unlock NO
Lock NC Unlock NC
Central Locking Kit: Steel-mate 386
Basically what I would like to have is
~ drivers door priority unlock, activated by the remote unlock(disarm) / lock(arm) button which either~ unlocks the remaining passenger doors by a second push of the button, or ~ unlocks drivers door on push, and if that 'push' is held for two or so seconds, unlocks passengers.
Also to that, it would be desirable if, while in the car, the driver could manually unlock/lock his door, and the passenger locks would follow without delay
The only problems which I have though of is
~ the central locking kit is only 2 wire unlock/lock for the actuators,
~ the remote/alarm AFAIK doesn't support 2-stage pulse for the unlock, and
~ the master(driver) actuator has wires which I assume is connected to a relay in the central locking module, which if triggered, locks/unlocks the passengers.
Also there are two wires (brown and white) which go to the alarm, and if these wires/circuit are closed, it will unlock/lock all locks.
(There is an additional trunk/boot unlock/lock button, which can be hooked up in a way to unlock just the passenger doors, however I would like an application explained above (Allows me to save that for something else) - I have to be difficult don't I )
If someone could shed some light of this matter, it'll be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

I hear exactly what you want out of this system, but you'll be hard pressed to find a keyless entry system that does more than priority unlock, etc.... You'd have to start using auxilliary inputs and program them to do different things when the button is quickly pushed vs. held down for longer than 1-2 seconds... As far as using the doorlocks to actually initiate the remaining passenger doorlock actuators... you'll have to find door locks that also act like lock/unlock switches... I know some of the older generation nissans would do this . and I agree, it was a nifty feature best of luck, sorry i couldn't offer more help ------------- The search function is your friend.

Yeah I figured it would be quite an ask to find something to do all that.
I'm happy to have just the priority unlock on the quick push, and passenger unlocks on the held push. I think I've read a few threads on that so I'll try to dig those up and post my findings.
Cheers for the reply

well what i would do is wire up a relay so when u lock, all doors will lock. the relay creates an extra pulse that should unlock/lock ur doors. Use this diagram that velocity made. works good if ur unit does not offer it. https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/index_main.html use 2 relays for lock and unlock since they both require double pulse. If u find that the pulse it too slow, change the capacitor.

The central locking module locks and unlocks all doors with no problem.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, but it doesn't require an extra/double pulse.
What I would like is for on an initial push of the button (I only have the one button for lock & unlock) is the driver's door unlock, and if I was to keeping holding the button down, the passengers would follow about 2 seconds after.
I was thinking perhaps a capacitor could help, but forgive my noobness :P
Correct me if I'm wrong, but would the circuit work something like this...
The drivers door would open when the circuit was closed from the RKE fob - whether it was held for 1/2 or 2 seconds. Once the button is held down long enough, or until the capacitor was charged, the current would flow allowing the passenger doors to unlock.
thanks,
andrew
