Alright, my first VW (PITA) but here goes (Avital 4100 and 556U)

Found lock and unlock wires in doors, ran into the car, no biggie i guess.

Grabbed 12v constant, starter, ign and acc at ign harness. I got the right parking lights, brake wires and such. everything was tested with my fluke meter.

Here is where it gets odd. Since my customer only had two of the switchblade keys, I was just putting the key into the ignition to demonstrate R/S. was working fine. Then I was experimenting with factory alarm, and the alarm went off. disarmed it with key fob, and went to remote start it, will run for 4 sec or so and shut off. was thinking transponder (as I was just holding the fob at the ign switch.) Then went to start the car with the key, and it does the exact same thing. runs for 3 sec or so and shuts down. have totally removed all of my install and does the same thing.

Any Ideas????? the car is in my garage until tom, I gotta get this thing working. messed up thing is, locks work perfect and remote start did work perfect. nothing changed. Only thing I can think of is the vehicle went into tamper mode, but I am stuck. HELP!

try cycling or gettin out of tamper mode. Place key into ignition and turn it to ON and leave it for 5 - 10 min. Usually on cars that haev lockout mode, ill just leave thecar to sit for 15 min or so. not sure if VWs have fuses for their immobilizer in the car. if there is, see if u blew the fuse by any chance.
