So i removed an old accel remote start from the crv, everything worked, just did not get range from it.  I installed a Compustar 4200 series remote start, and not the trunk is not poping from the remote.  Will work fine in the car,  but not from rs.  Any Ideas?

After you did the install.... did you do any programming, and this is how you wired ....?

so I went out and checked to see if I needed to switch polarity, but that didn't work either.  Any other ideas?

different locations in vehicle have different trigger as KarTuneMan posted above either violet/white is (-) and the yellow/brown dots is (+).
Which way is it hooked up? Maybe you have it set up reversed to the wire you have a (+) hooked to violet/white. I would double check and see if the wire you are triggering is getting the correct polarity of current. I would use a relay to eliminate a potential low current issue.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

I have v/w hooked up to y/bd.  How would I wire the relay to help with the low current?  When I hit the trunk button, it unlocks the doors like it is supposed to do, but not pop the trunk.

So you have the output programmed to be a (+) output on yellow/brown dot wire?
If it is set for (-) then wire a relay as follows:
pin 85 to violet/white
pin 86 to 12v+ constant fused source
pin 30 to 12v+ fused same as pin 86
pin 87 to trunk release wire in vehicle (yellow/brown dot)

This is from wiremagic.....the cm4200 wire (violet/white NEG- @CN4)  connects to on the car   yellow/brown dots. The violet/white is a negative output and needs to be used to trigger a relay, to  throw 12 volts.

Go  to the switch, see what polarity is on the output (I think pos) and  run to the switch output. If it's pos use a relay.

Go to see see what polarity the output is, make sure it's on 0v (ie open circuit) at rest . If pos, add a relay.
