I am installing a Prestige APS997 remote start /security on a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Will a  Fortin CHRDAA work on a 2005. I checked Fortins webpage it lists the CHRDAA-04, does anyone know the difference  between the CHRDAA and the CHRDAA-04 ?

From what i understand. chrdaa only works on older chrysler models up to 04. For 05 liberty you needs a separate pats for transponder which can be plugged directly into the chrdaa's 2 pin plug. They call it chrdaa 04 combo which is actually consists of a chrdaa and a pats 04.

Moonliter,

Thanks for the reply.  It looked like Fortin had chrdaa(discountinued) and chrdaa-04.  I wasn't sure if all I needed to add to the chrdaa was the pats 04.

I believe so you can, but I definitely send out an email to Fortin for confirmation.

Yup, if u already had a chrdaa, then all you need is a pats chrysler 04. obviously the chrdaa's transponder portion is not compatible with 05 liberty. The pats chrysler 04 will take care of the transponder bypass for 05 and the chrdaa will still do the alarm disarm/arm, doorlocks etc.

good luck

Just a note.... I put a CHRDAA into a 03 Liberty week back. Custoimer complained that headlights would go out when applying brake. Took out the CHRDAA and replaced with chdl4pk2 and problem went away. I got to thinking that if I diode isolated those two wires that come from the 3-wire harness, it may have worked. Just for you info......
